Harpist and soprano Cynthia Shelhart performs historical, traditional, and original music for harp and voice. Her newest CD release is That Night in Bethlehem, a holiday collection for solo harp. Her harp music book, Tunes to Go: 400 Tunes in Lead Sheet Format for the Harp, has become a standard among harpists and harp ensembles of all levels. She is a past winner of the US National Scottish Harp Championship and a leading authority in double-strung harp performance and pedagogy. In addition to solo harp and vocal concerts, she currently performs with the University of Chicago Early Music Ensemble and provides music for special events. She teaches studio and online harp lessons and is in national demand as a festival clinician. She lives in Chesterton, Indiana, where she also serves as Director of Music at St. John’s United Church (UCC/PCUSA). Visit her online at www.cynthiashelhart.com.
